Since 1933, Duke University Chapel has welcomed the holiday season with the sublime music of Messiah. From the haunting strains of “The people that walked in darkness” to the exuberant triumph of “Hallelujah” and “Worthy is the Lamb,” George Frideric Handel’s masterwork weaves a musical tapestry that recounts the story of Christ’s life, from birth through death and resurrection.
Each performance will include selections from Parts I, II, and III, and will last approximately two hours and fifteen minutes with intermission.
NOTES
Please note that the concert is lengthy and not recommended for small children. Sounds from the audience carry in the Duke Chapel, and can be disruptive to the artists and other audience members. While we welcome people of all ages to enjoy the concert, please be mindful of the nature of the program, for the comfort of your family and others.
The price of the ticket includes parking the Bryan Center Parking Garage at 125 Science Dr.
Estimated run time is approximately 2 hours, plus one 15-minute intermission.
