Magnificat: Songs of Protest and Rebellion
Duke University Chapel Music welcomes the UK-based early music ensemble Magnificat, led by Dr. Philip Cave, for a weeklong residency in March 2022. In this concert, the group will perform music of Josquin Desprez, including Josquin's epic "Miserere mei."

Magnificat: Bach Motets
Duke University Chapel Music welcomes the UK-based early music ensemble Magnificat, led by Dr. Philip Cave, for a weeklong residency in March 2022. In this concert, the group will perform motets of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries. Widely regarded as a master of the counterpoint and harmonic musical styles of the Baroque era, Bach was a prolific composer whose music remains highly influential in classical music, both sacred and secular. This concert will present his motets Jesu, meine Freudeand Komm, Jesu, Kommalongside works by his contemporaries.
