This year, we are honored to present a captivating performance by Slam Charlotte, one of the nation’s premier slam poetry teams. Their powerful words will set the tone for the weekend as we delve into the theme of "Home & Heritage.
Following the performance, be uplifted by an evocative chant led by Dr. Alexis Pauline Gumbs - Duke Alum, a soulful moment of reflection that invites us all to center ourselves in the spirit of community and creativity.
Finally, our keynote speaker, Prentis Hemphill, will take the stage to deliver a thought-provoking keynote address. Prentis, known for their deep wisdom and work in healing justice and community organizing, will offer profound insights into the importance of storytelling, resilience, and breaking cycles.
