SPRING IN PARIS
Tuesday, May 21 | 7:00 PM
Duke Gardens, Kirby Horton Hall
Presented by Caroline Stinson, cello

This concert of French music old, new, and popular, with strings, percussion, and song, brings us together around the French Fête des voisins – a get-together with neighbors and friends for a moment of conviviality. Spring in Paris – there isn’t a better time to visit!
EVOCATIONS
Friday, June 28 | 7:00 PM
Baldwin Auditorium, East Campus, Duke University
Presented by Jonathan Bagg, viola

Schubert’s joyous “Trout” Quintet meets the dark, mystical world of Osvaldo Golijov’s Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind, a Klezmer-inspired classic of our time for clarinet and strings. Also on the program: For Toru for flute & strings by Lukas Foss. Rane Moore, clarinet; Jesse Mills and Emilie-Anne Gendron, violins; Jonathan Bagg, viola; Thomas Kraines, cello; Laura Gilbert, flute; Rieko Aizawa, piano; Zachary Hobin, bass.

DREAMTIME
Thursday, August 22 | 7:00 PM
Duke Gardens, Kirby Horton Hall
Presented by Eric Pritchard, violin

Throughout human history, artists and composers have sought to lift the veil of the subconscious by giving voice to the dreamworld in their work. This concert begins with luminous sounds and evocative stories from six contemporary composers and concludes with a transcription of Arnold Schoenberg’s glorious setting of Transfigured Night.
